Worm Tubes
We present these fossils in this section as they are commonly referred to as worm tubes and without definitive classification to the contrary at this time.
All these small encrusting spiral worm tubes were found on an Orthocone sp impression uncovered in the south wall (bed #27) section of our quarry. They measure 2mm across. They were formerly called Spirorbis but have now been assigned to Microconchus. They are in a group called Microconchida.
